Job Description Resource Development and Communications Coordinator (HFHE) is a non-profit, non-governmental ecumenical Christian housing organization dedicated to the elimination of poverty in Egypt through housing. (HFHI) headquartered in Atlanta – Georgia (U.S.A). Anchored by the conviction that safe and affordable housing, provides a critical foundation for breaking the cycle of poverty. HFH Egypt in partnership with community-based organizations and local NGOs provides micro-housing loans to low income families in need for building, repairing and improving their homes. HFH Egypt believes in the importance of the continuity of the program; therefore, the beneficiaries repay their loans so that the repayments of those revolving loans can be used to build other houses in the community. Job Location: Egypt Travel: Local The Resource Development Coordinator reporting directly to the National Director is primarily responsible for fundraising for the HFH Egypt program Operations. As guided by the Global Collaboration Development Handbook; fundraising is done in collaboration with our International’s Global Fundraising Network (GFN); Local corporates and Foundations and Egyptians living in the Diaspora. The coordinator is responsible for raising awareness on HFH Egypt’s interventions with internal and external audiences. The position is responsible for, creating and executing plans for resource development, communications and fundraising ventures. Main Responsibilities: Resource Development and Donor Care • Provide input into the development of the Resource Development and Communications strategic and action plans. Work very closely with the Team Leader to implement the action plans • Cultivate and deepen relationships with existing and potential funders, through local funding partners and liaising with the Global Habitat network • Work with the Program team to write grant proposal applications • Create, maintain and analyze a donor database in order to maximize effectiveness of donor strategy • Continue regular contact with donors in the form of: thank you letters, e-mails, social media, quarterly e-newsletters, annual reports; case studies; electronic presentations • Communication and Public Relations • In coordination with the Communications and Resource Development Departments of HFHI Europe Middle East Africa (EMEA) and other stakeholders, provide input into and execute a communications strategy for fundraising and awareness-raising • Participate in appropriate NGO and fundraising networks in order to inform strategic positioning, identify gaps in services, target potential partner linkage, gain insight of best practices in the sector and develop brand awareness of HFHI’s work in country • Represent Habitat for Humanity to Arabic-speaking constituents • Showcase the work of HFH Egypt through social media platforms • Write homeowner stories • Compile and distribute newsletters • Prepare reports including visual materials Volunteer Engagement • Assist, as needed, with volunteer-engagement activities, engaging community members and encouraging individuals to participate in community building projects • Coordinate volunteering events and their participants from schools, corporations and the local community • Interview homeowners and volunteers and take pictures during events Administrative • Maintain contact with Donors Habitat EMEA through e-mail and phone calls • Provide translation support for the National Organization on a need basis • Renew agreements • Other duties as assigned by supervisor Applicants should have: • Bachelor Degree in Communications, Housing and Human Settlements, Development Studies or a related field • 4-6years of successful experience in raising funds for NGOs or non-profits from major donors and foundations • Proven experience raising funds • Experience in donor- and stakeholder-relationship management • Native Arabic and fluent English (written and spoken) • Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written) • Strong presentation and organizational skills • Experience successfully developing and executing events • Strong proposal writing and editing skills • Basic graphic design skills • Competency in Microsoft suite and internet
