Job Description

• Separate from any professional engineering bias, the suitable candidate will have some understanding of a wide variety of data centre technologies such as: UPS Systems, Critical Cooling Systems Inc. InRow Cooling , Fire Suppression, Control and Monitoring systems Job Category
• Installation /Maintenance/Repair

• Main Duties and Responsibilities :-
• The role is focused on assisting with the delivery of exceptional quality service to the clients Production Data Centre environments.
• Troubleshoot and remedy dc hardware issues; document findings in tickets ( Jira )
• Handel user side first and 2nd line of support request.
• Building servers, cable management, patching, racking and stacking.
• Assist in the monitoring of procedures and systems at the IT data centre
Day-to-day and project.
• Assist in monitoring temperature, cooling and humidity for DataCentre.
• Assist in Installing routers, switches, servers and their builds in line with IT requirements.
• Assist in ensuring adequate monitoring of DC facility, reporting incidents promptly and managing to resolution.
• To ensure that the technology environment is secure at all times -Attend site at the agreed time ensure any fault is handled through to completion even if required to stay additional time
• To seek assistance from the appropriate department within IT Infrastructure when unsure of a particular system or service.
• Ensuring notes and documentation is completed to stop future recurrences
• To install hardware systems and basic operating system from documented instructions designated for the disaster recovery site
• Installing, testing, and modifying cross connections.
• Skills, qualifications and Job requirements :-
• Bachelor degree from a reputable university (computer engineering or computer science background is preferred).
• Some experience of working with Python, shell , SQL and/or Bash is desirable.
• A natural curiosity and problem-solving mindset, with a desire to work collaboratively.
• A motivated individual who ‘owns’ and takes pride in their work.
• Good knowledge of computing hardware and components.
• Knowledge of enterprise and consumer hardware: CPU, RAM, SSD, Power, Mobile, etc.
Understanding of the following technologies: TCP/IP, Routing, Linux, SAN, RAID, etc.
Knowledge of Layer 1 network technologies (optics, network cable types, etc.)
• Familiarity with Data Center power delivery and power standards.
• Experience with deployment and management of Linux based systems.
• Excellent communication skills to work with vendors and other engineers.
• Working with other technical teams and customers to solve technical problems if needed.
• Acting as on-call support for any problems escalation out of working hours according to schedule.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Management.
• Good knowledge of the Data Centre environment
